A little about me ...
BACKGROUND AND COMMUNITY COMMITMENT
I’ve lived in Groveland for nearly 28 years and during that time, I’ve been actively involved in a variety of community initiatives through volunteer work. While a mom with young children, I played a leadership role in the Bagnall PTA, serving as Vice President, coordinating the annual fundraiser, helping to create the Shopper's Corner program, and leading the Cake Walk for several years. I also served as my son's Cub Scout Den Leader. Additionally, I co-led the Groveland Congregational Church’s summer Vacation Bible School program, taught Sunday School and have been very involved with the church's annual Snowflake Fair. As a member of the church, I have also worked on outreach programs in the community preparing meals for Emmaus House residents, serving food to local residents and helping to build beds for children in need. Most recently I have volunteered for the town’s elections, which has provided me with valuable insight into how they are organized and managed.
I've loved my time in this special community and am commited to continuing to work for all of its residents as your Town Clerk.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
My previous roles in both banking and as the Church Administrator, as well as my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, have equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to take on the responsibilities of Town Clerk. After my graduation from Colby Sawyer College I joined Eastern Bank as a Management Trainee. I remained with the bank as an Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager for nine years before moving to Groveland and starting my family. After both of my sons were in school full-time, I took on a position as an Assistant Teacher at Perry Park Preschool, where I worked for four years. In 2009, I transitioned into my current role in the church office.

I have a proven track record of attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups to achieve common goals. I am ready to bring this invaluable experience to the Town Clerk's office and serve with dedication and integrity.
Why I am the choice for Groveland
I am running for the Town Clerk position because I believe it's important for our community to have strong, competent employees working for them. With my years of experience as the Administrator at the Groveland Congregational Church, I have well honed organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and a dedication to service that I am eager to bring to this role. I am dedicated to building on the excellent work that our current Town Clerk, Beth Cunniff, has accomplished during her time in office, and ensuring that the Clerk's office continues to be a well-run and efficient resource for all residents. After 20 years at the church, 16 of them in my current role, I’m ready to take on this new challenge.
The Town Clerk’s Office is responsible for managing the town's vital records and meeting minutes, as well as overseeing all town, state, and federal elections. I am confident that my experience aligns well with these responsibilities. In my current role, I handle similar tasks, including managing church records, meeting minutes, and membership information. As the church’s Administrator, I oversee records management which includes member information and contributions, budgeting, production of the annual report, and communication with the public both in person and on social media. I take pride in approaching every interaction with confidentiality, professionalism, and compassion. Whether I’m working with church members or assisting anyone who reaches out, I strive to be a positive, supportive presence. I will bring this same professionalism and kindness to the Town Clerk position.

In addition to my administrative duties, I serve as the church's Bookkeeper, overseeing financial record-keeping, bill payments, account reconciliation, report preparation, and payroll processing, including reporting to both state and federal authorities. I work with various computer platforms and am proficient in Microsoft Office. Working for an almost 300-year-old institution has also provided me with extensive experience in researching historical information, which will be valuable in the Town Clerk’s role.
